One of the top goal scorers
in the history of the NASL, Alan signed with the Minnesota Kicks for
the 1976 season in loan from Middlesbrough (English Football Club), but
stayed on to complete nine seasons in the League.

Willey joined Middlesbrough as an apprentice and made his Football League debut against
Manchester City at Ayresome Park on July 21, 1974, scoring his first League
goal two weeks later against Wolves (English Football Club). Between
1974 and 1977, Willey played in 50 games, many of them as a substitute, and
scored seven goals. In the NASL he played for Minnesota from 1976 to
1981, when he was traded to Montreal Manic. While with Minnesota he
played in the 1976 Championship game against Toronto Metros-Croatia and in
1978 scored five goals in a playoff game against New York Cosmos, a game the
Kicks won 9-2. After just two seasons with Montreal, he returned to
Minnesota, this time to play for the Strikers. He finished his NASL
career with 129 goals in 234 games.

during the commemoration of the National American Soccer League
(NASL), is originally from England.
