Maurice John Hudson


Before emigrating to the United States Maury played center forward for his school team.

Born: October 24, 1890 - London, England
Died: November 13, 1968 - San Francisco, CA

Arrived in San Francisco in 1907 and settled in Monterey County. Played for the Barbarian club from 1910 until 1926. In the meantime while serving with the United States Armed Forces in Europe was selected and played in the United States Army team in the Inter-Allied Tournament in Paris in 1919. Appointed secretary of the California Football Association and San Francisco League in 1935 and served in both posts for 15 years. Played on many San Francisco All-Star teams in intercity competition and while with the Barbarians captured the California State Cup four times and the San Francisco League championship once.
