George Craggs


A halfback who played for amateur teams in Canada and Seattle from 1945 to 1961.

Born: July 8, 1929 - Calgary, Alberta

Co-founder of Fremont Boys Soccer Club in 1947. Played in the Washington state league from 1949 to 1961 with first division Buchan S.C. and Germania S.C. Also a team manager from 1958 to 1962. Represented the C.Y.O. from 1959 to 1978. Commissioner of the of the Washington State Association from 1957 to 1961. Was a USSF national referee for 23 years. Also served as USSA and USSRA referee coordinator, and a WSSRA treasurer and referee coordinator from 1962-1978.  Received the Barney Kempton Memorial Trophy for outstanding service to soccer in 1969.
