Harry Baldwin

Harry was a life long native of New Jersey. He played for Trenton State College in the 1950’s and later was captain of Sport club Sparta in the Garden State League. His refereeing career spanned thirty years culminating at the national level in the American Soccer League. During these years he coached at the middle school, high school and colligate levels.

Referee development activity began in 1960 with the Shore Soccer Officials Association. Later he became a national and international referee instructor. He was the second Director of Referee Instruction for the United States Soccer Federation and participated in the early development activities of the National Program. In 1983 he became the third and final Director of Officials for the North American Soccer League. Following his tenure at the NASL he returned to work another decade in the referee development program.  Harry passed away on Nov. 17th, 2005.
